Shameless Self-Promotion

As shameless self-promotion is the only way to get ahead in this rough and tumble world of the New York job market (and the singles scene, but that's a different entry, gentle readers), I would be remiss in not posting the video (and as soon as I figure out how to embed it - I will totally have more than just the link here!) from the interview with NY1.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by after seeing the piece on NY1, because you're my pal, because you're unemployed in Brooklyn (or anywhere else) or for whatever reason you stopped by.

Oh, and, my dear ones, though the piece may make it seem like I'm twenty-two and freshly arrived from the cozy campus of a New England university, let me assure you ... it's been well over a decade since I was a college co-ed.

  2. Hi Match Girl,
I, too saw your spot on NY1 and I just wanted to tell you I can totally relate. I've been unemployed since December. What I love about your blog is that it's not bitter or angry, you seem hopeful about the future.

I'm going to keep reading your blog, and I hope that things pick up for all of us very soon. Cheers.

  3. Match Girl,
Caught your spot on NY1. I, too, have been out of work since December. Scary how easy it is to adjust to NOT working.

Well, I'm hoping for a kindler, gentler and much smarter way of life for all of us -- but it's hard to keep hope alive with all that's happening in the gov't. these days. Corruption and self-serving pols are, unfortunately, a way of life!

    Cheers,

    AMY

  4. Saw you linked on Brokelyn and checked out your blog.

I spent all last summer unemployed, broke and single. I told myself that as long as I could find a job all my problems would be instantly solved.

Then I found a job. And now I'm employed, broke and single. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  5. Match Girl,

I too caught your spot on NY1. Thank you for being an inspiration!

I've been unemployed for the last month now and it is incredibly wonderful to know that there are others that are in a similar state as I am in. :-)

    Keep on Blogging and Rocking!
